Kalua Pig with Cabbage

Ingredients:
  • 1 Pkg Mayʻs Hawaii Kalua Brand Shredded Pork
  • Whole cabbage head
  • 1/2 white onion, diced
  • 1 t water
  • 1 T oil

How to:
  1. Thaw shredded pork, keep it in package. Donʻt open it.
  2. Cut whole cabbage head into 4 pieces. Cut those pieces in half. Then slice into 1/2 inch shreds. Rinse thorough with cold water. 
  3. Heat pot on low and add oil. 
  4. Add onions, cook until translucent. 
  5. Add cabbage and water. Mix once and cover pot.
  6. Cook for 5 min, uncover and mix again. 
  7. Cook uncovered until soft, mix occasionally. 
  8. When cooked add thawed shredded pork.
  9. Mix everything, cook for 5 min with pot covered.
  10. Uncover pot, cook for another 10 min, mixing occasionally. 
  11. Serve hot.

Review:
I love this recipe, its so easy to do and with only a few ingredients. It doesn't take long to make as well, Iʻd say with preparations and cooking about 30 min. The food is great by itself, but if you want a little more bang to it, you can put the soy sauce over your rice. This is my go to recipe, when iʻm  lazy.

  1. This food looks good. Not a lot ingredients, so I want to cook it! I think it is good combination with beer.
